Pine Forest Apartments

Posted by: Heidi

I have a little treat for everybody, since I haven’t been posting any stories lately. I recently modified an apartment lot I was working on a long time ago and I have it up for download on my site. Sorry I didn’t take any pictures of it to put up on this site, but you can see it and download at my sim page.

Pine Forest Apartments

When I first built it I did build it kind of large. It is the largest lot and I initially had 8 apartments on the lot. I recently decided to delete 4 of the apartments and I got the idea to fill the extra space with a “parking lot” to accommodate resident vehicles. I also set up the lot using a combination of the Apartment Control System and 4-Keyholder Doors from Simlogical. Hopefully they download right to other people’s games, but if not, Simlogical’s site is very helpful and when you finally get the system working it works quite nicely.

If you download it, let me know what you think or if I need to make any changes. Enjoy!

A Long Time Gone!

Posted by: Heidi

If anybody is still looking over here to see what I’m up to, obviously I haven’t been writing in this blog for a long long long time. I apologize, but life takes precedent over Sims sometimes.

I haven’t played Sims in months, probably since the last time I posted. My husband and I moved to Ann Arbor a few months ago and we’ve been busy. I was also working more hours, applying for grad school, and a whole mess of other stuff.

I honestly can’t say when I’ll be back, but I think about Sims every once in awhile and I miss it, so maybe soon. I just need to get life in order first. I’ve been saving all new posts on everybody else’s blogs so I can read them later at some other time, but I fear if I read them now then I’ll just want to play and not get anything else done.

Oh yeah, I also want to change around my other website, and someday this one. Blogsome is nice for a free service but I might want to invest some time making the site exactly how I want it someday.

Happy Simming! I hope the few people who might still read this site are doing well. Now it’s time to clean up the large amount of comment spam that has bombarded this site.

Break - Again

Posted by: Heidi

I know I’m pretty notorious with this but I am indeed taking a break from Sims playing again. It’s an aspect of my personality that I’ve grown accustomed to, but I understand if it can be annoying to people who regularly check my site. Anyway every once in awhile I get into moods where I want to do other things or nothing at all. Right now I’m in a mood where I want to finish reading the Harry Potter series…other than it being extremely addicting I didn’t start reading it until a month or two ago and I really can’t stop. I’m on the 5th book now and there’s a long wait for the 6th book at the library (and of course an even longer wait for the last one…I’m kinda happy I didn’t start reading it until now, I don’t know how I would’ve been able to wait between books that long). After that though I have to start packing because my husband and I are moving! We’re moving to the Ann Arbor area and we are really excited about it, but we have to be packed in about a month.

Hopefully my break won’t be too long…I feel like things are completely unorganized around me though so I have to get everything straightened up before I start playing Sims again.

Alex Hansen

Posted by: Heidi

Alex Hansen is my husband in real life, but here he is in Sims 2 life now too! This story will be a bit predictable since we all know that he’ll meet me, fall in love, get married, that sort of thing, but this will only be a slight break from the Monroeville saga for awhile. It’s not the most exciting update but I had it next in line so I wanted to get it out of the way. Don’t worry, Monroeville will start heating up a lot soon, I’ve got some great posts lined up that I can’t wait to play out!

Meadow’s Not So Exciting Existence

Posted by: Heidi

Upon graduation Meadow had no real ambitions in her life (not even to get a job). She did work on her novel now and again, she finished her first novel a couple of weeks after graduation but it flopped. She started another novel, but other than talking to her friends on the phone and calling Aiden to come over and visit, she didn’t want to do anything else with her life. She did finally get a job as an artist (mostly out of sheer boredom by the author of this blog).

Kimberly Monif

Posted by: Heidi

Kimberly Monif knew that once Meadow moved out she needed a new roommate right away. There was no way she was going to afford rent on her own. Things were going quite well with Jason so she asked him to move in with her.

“Wow Jason, I’m so happy we’ll be living together now!”

Graduation Is Near

Posted by: Heidi

College was going great for Meadow Thayer, she was well on her way to graduating at the top of her class and she was enjoying herself too. Meadow has two best friends, Tori and Kimberly, both live in her dorm. Tonight she asked Tori to a game of chess in the lounge.

“Ha! Check and Mate!” Nobody can really beat Meadow at chess but they humor her with a game every once in awhile.

“Hey Meadow, how is your novel going?” Meadow just kinda shrugged her shoulders.

“Harder than I thought, I just assumed the ideas would come free flowing, but once I get in front of the computer screen I go blank. I just don’t get it”. Meadow loved writing, despite her parents objections, she majored in Literature and wants to write for a living.

Summer Cleaning

Posted by: Heidi

I signed up for Rojo, a web based RSS reader and I decided to clean/organize my sims links. I often save new Sims blogs to my Firefox Live Bookmarks but I don’t always update my site. I’ve added all RSS feeds that I could (and I think I got most of them) and then I checked my blog links to be sure they were current (I still had Jen’s old link, EEK!) The other thing I did was delete anybodys site that hasn’t updated in over 3 months. That doesn’t mean I removed them from my feeds though, just my site links, so if I did delete your and you do update in the near future then I’m sure I’ll catch it again.

I try to visit the blogs of anybody who comments on my site and that’s how I’ve been adding new links, although if I come across another site I like I’ll add that too, even if they don’t comment here. There’s just so many sims blogs out there now, I like to recognize all of you all though, even if I can’t read your sites everyday. Keep on simming!

Another Baby?

Posted by: Heidi

It had been about a month since David’s regrettable affair with Cindy. Why does that woman get to me so much? David finally decided that he needed to stay away from her and focus on his family now, he hasn’t seen Cindy since that unfortunate day at the spa.

Lauren was doing well in her job, but she felt like she wanted more in her life. Lauren approached David one night, “David, I want to have another baby.”

“Really?! I mean of course, I would love to have another kid around the house.” David kept rattling on, “maybe a girl? Do you think we could have a girl?”

Lauren laughed, “you’re so silly, you know it’s pure chance what we get.”

“We’ll have to get a new house you know.” David loved his little home but he knew it wasn’t big enough for their growing family. “Now I don’t want anything too big, but I really like it here.” David’s mind was running a mile a minute, “Let’s build a house!”

“Do you really think we can afford that David?” Lauren was the type to worry about how they spend money. She’s not miserly but she’s very careful where the money goes in their house.

“Of course we can afford it, we already own this large lot of land don’t we? We can just build something nice here, right here with all of our friends.”

Lauren just smiled, she never considered anybody in this neighborhood her friend. Christy Stratton is her only friend and she lives across town, but Lauren realizes that David values his friendships a lot and she needs to be sensitive to that.

Even More Birthdays!

Posted by: Heidi

The Bach girls come home from school with William Thompson, the Bach’s agreed to babysit William while his parents were at work since they live right across the street.

“Well, our parents said they would take us skiing in Vail this winter, where are your parents taking you?” Celeste is enjoying her new family. She remembers how tough it was for her before the Bach’s adopted her, she was in several foster homes because her mother was addicted to heroin and an alcoholic, she doesn’t even know how many times children’s services bounced her around the system. She’s also getting along with her new sisters, Justine and Carley have accepted her as part of their family too.
